Camp Sankanac Summer Camps

Since 1941, Camp Sankanac has been offering a premier summer youth camp experience like none other. What started off as just a few weeks of Boys’ Camp & Girls’ Camp has developed into so much more! While we still offer our popular and unique all boys and all girls camp, we now run day camps, horse camps, basketball camps, and more! We offer all of the usual fun camp activities you’d expect from a traditional summer camp experience like campfires, sleeping under the stars, crazy games, crafts, waterfront activities, swimming, night games, and fun competitions…but we also offer so much more! Camp Sankanac is open to boys and girls, ages 7-16, regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin.

To learn more about our summer camp options please contact us at info@campsankanac.org or call us at 610-469-6320.

Attention all boys and girls ages 7-16!! These all boy and all girl camps have been running since 1941 and offer a unique camp experience! Come join us for a great week of activities, outdoor adventures, and learning more about God. Camp Sankanac runs four weeks of boys’ camp (June-July) and four weeks of girls’ camp (July-August). From creek stomping to hilarious skits, to cooking over a fire, to paintball and arrow tag, to tubing, to braving our mountain-sized water slide you don’t want to miss the outdoor adventures that await during our four weeks of boys’ or girls’ camp.

Each week of camp is tied to a different theme. The purpose of our weekly theme is to add a fun twist to the regular camp daily schedule. The themes play out primarily in our evening activity and in mealtime skits during the week. The rest of our camp day is largely the same every week. In the morning, campers have Bible and elective classes. In the afternoon, campers have rest time, free time, and activity time with their own cabin. After the evening meal, campers participate in a large group game or activity that is tied to the weekly theme and then they end the day with a chapel service.

Overnight Horse Camp

Camp Sankanac horse camps are run by equestrian professionals Erin Hails (Brick Lane Stables) & Diana Shirk (Silver Lining Farm) and their experienced staff. Erin and Diana both have many years of experience and look forward to working with the campers each summer in improving their confidence, knowledge and experience around horses and in their riding skills. Horse campers are sure to get plenty of time with the horses, not only riding and having a blast, but also learning important riding and horse care techniques. Our overnight horse camp programs give campers the best of both worlds…lots of time with the horses (individualized and group riding instruction, trail riding…even creek stomping with your horse!!)… AND all the best of Sankanac (Bible study, pool, boats, waterslide, crafts, camp store and more!).

Horse Day Camp

Join us for a week full of horse and pony fun! Each camper will have a daily group lesson, horse craft time, horse chore/activity and Bible time. After lunch, campers will be able to enjoy the camp pool and then end the day with some more horse activities. Horse activities may include bareback riding, horse learning activities, grooming, trail rides around camp and horse games on and off the horse. Tuesdays & Thursdays are our Trading Post days where campers can visit the snack/gift shop…feel free to send along spending money on those days. It is a busy and fun week!

If you are 16 years of age (or have completed 10th grade) and are considering a future in leadership or summer camp counseling, we highly recommend this program! The CIT program is 3 weeks of hands-on leadership training, giving you beneficial experiences and helpful preparation for the future leader. There are 2 weeks of training that focuses on spiritual growth, building counseling skills and leadership training as you prepare for the last week, which consists of staying in a cabin and assisting counselors with younger campers and program-related tasks. This program really gives you a taste of what summer camp counseling (and ministry in general) is all about. Whether you are looking at a future in summer camp ministry or any kind of leadership, this program is the perfect way to prepare and looks great on your future college application or resume! A certificate of completion will be provided for campers who complete this program. In between each week, CIT’s will go home from Saturday to Sunday.
